
About 1 in 5 women experience mood swings and/or anxiety during pregnancy and up to a year after giving birth, and about 1 in 10 men develop postpartum depression.These changes can affect their relationship with themselves, their relationship with their partner, their family life, and their relationship with their baby.Many women and men need temporary support, which can be provided by healthcare professionals such as mental health nurse specialists.
